Dr Rhydian Harris
Expertise and Clinical Interest
Dr Rhydian Harris is a dual fellowship, internationally trained surgeon specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat conditions for adults and children. He graduated from the prestigious Guy’s Kings & St. Thomas’ Hospitals medical school in London with honours whilst simultaneously completing an honours degree in Immunology at the University of London. After 3 years of surgical training in London teaching hospitals, Dr Harris completed a further 6 years of higher ENT surgical training in Manchester. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons England in 2017. After completing his ENT training, he gained fellowship experience in Otology and Neuro-otology in the esteemed Manchester Skull Base Unit.
On moving to Sydney, he pursued further sub-specialist training in advanced ear surgery at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Hearing Implants Australia, and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. In his pursuit of excellence, Dr Harris has travelled the world to learn novel techniques from leaders in their field, including clinical observerships at units in France, Italy, Australasia and the USA, where he also received advanced cochlear implant training. He became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2023.
To complement his immunology background, Dr Harris refined his proficiency in rhinology by working as a research fellow as part of the internationally renowned Sydney Rhinology Fellowship. He subsequently completed further fellowship training in rhinology and anterior skull base surgery at Westmead Hospital, where he also worked as a locum consultant for 12 months.
As a proud father of two young children, Dr Harris has an empathic understanding of the unique challenges of paediatric care. He spent 14 months training at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital – the UK’s largest and busiest children’s hospital – and is particularly passionate about managing childhood ENT conditions.
